The Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA), Governor’s Discretionary Fund grant is awarded through the Arizona Department of Economic Security (DES) and administered by the United States Department of Labor. The Governor’s Office of Youth, Faith and Family (GOYFF) works with organizations across the state to implement best practices that address workforce needs while enhancing collaboration among local, regional, and statewide entities that support this work.
GOYFF aids in the distribution of approximately $5.9 million in funding to support serving the following target populations: individuals reentering the community from correctional settings; school leaders serving low-income and/or rural communities; disconnected youth; veterans and military service members; high school students preparing for college and/or career; individuals chronically unemployed and underemployed; individuals with disabilities; and individuals who have experienced trauma.
GOYFF has partnered with Arizona State University’s College of Health Solutions to conduct a cross-site evaluation of the WIOA, Governor's Discretionary Fund grant program.
